New Swift Dzire – Maruti to launch 2012 Maruti Suzuki Dzire on the 1st of February 2012
Maruti Suzuki is going to launch the Maruti Swift Dzire 2012 new model in just a couple of weeks from now. We expected the official launch to happen before mid of February 2012 in India. There is a complete set of leaked pictures of the new Swift Dzire which has been clicked while the new Dzire test drive car was being unloaded at some dealer yard. The new Swift Dzire 2012 is a almost the same from inside as is the new Maruti Swift 2011 in India. In this article, we share all these leaked pictures and details of exteriors and interior design of the new Swift Dzire 2012.

The front fascia of the new Dzire is improved as compared to the old Swift Dzire. The biggest suspense revealed by this test vehicle is that the car will bee named Maruti Swift Dzire only and will replace the old car as there same badging and branding on this car. Earlier there were speculations that Both Old Dzire and New Dzire can be sold simultaneously, but the case seems unlikely with the same branding of the new car.

The grille of the new Dzire has been deliberately kept different from the new Swift 2011 to give it’s a distinct look and the fog lamps also look different. The headlamps design is same as that of the new Swift and much larger and aggressive than the old Dzire.

The new Swift also has more curved and side wrapping new tail lamps design. It looks more upmarket and neat. The rear boot lid contains horizontal chrome strip above the license plate to give a premium feel. The rear bumper is also larger and more aggressive with a middle mounted reflector. There is a high mounted stop lamp at the middle of the rear parcel tray overlooking from the rear of the car.

The rear is very Swift like and since the boot is smaller than the existing Swift Dzire, the car looks more close to the hatch in dimensions compared to the existing or old Dzire.

The boot is significantly smaller as compared to the rear of the old Dzire. This has been done to keep the overall length of the car under 4 meter so that it fits the small car category so that it can fall in the lower excise duty bracket. The smaller than 4 meters length makes it certain that the car will be powered by the same engine line up including the 1.2 Liter Petrol K12 Engine and 1.3 Liter Multijjet Diesel Engine.
There is also new alloy wheel design for the new Dzire 2012 which looks very classy and upmarket. The new Dzire also uses similar and larger body panels and same interiors of the new Swift 2011.

There are integrated turn indicators on the outside rear view mirrors of the new Swift Dzire 2012. The outside door handles, rear view mirrors, bumpers etc. all are body coloured on the top end Zxi and Zdi variants. The rear looks quite different from the Swift hatch and gives it a quite distinct look.

The inside door handles have chrome finishing on it and there are all four power windows and electrically adjustable outside rear view mirrors. There are also horizontal wood inserts at the front door trims and dashboard.

The interiors are same as Swift 2011 with large AC vents. There is a 5 speed manual transmission, integrated audio system with USB/CD/AM/FM Radio, USB and Aux-input. There are steering mounted audio controls, ABS, automatic climate control, 3 spoke steering wheel with sporty black-silver finish.

The instrument cluster has large tachometer and speedometer dial with digital multi-information display at the middle. The interiors are beige and gray in colour and are more spacious and comfortable.

The rear seats are also more spacious with improved leg room but the boot space becomes smaller with the shorter length which makes it a more easy to maneuver and lower in cost because of lower excise duty. On the flip side, the luggage space goes down which makes it less attractive proposition for buyers looking for large boot space and comfortable seating for 5 adults.

However, on the whole, the lower boot volume is less likely to impact the sales as the improvements on the interiors and exteriors outweigh the small reduction in boot. If the new Swift Dzire is launched at a lower price than the expected model (which is expected because of the lower excise duty), it is likely to attract even more buyers than it does as of now.

Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) is all set to launch its new compact sedan. Unveiled at the Buddha International Circuit in Greater Noida, the 2012 Maruti Suzuki Dzire or the “Heart Car” will be launched on the 1st of February 2012, following the success of its predecessor, the Maruti Suzuki Swift.
Less than 4 meters in length, the new Dzire, has a shorter boot, new tail lamps and a chrome accent. The shorter size meant to qualify it for a lesser excise duty of 10 per cent as opposed to the current rate of 22 per cent on the Swift.
3995 mm in length, 1690 mm in width and 1530 mm in height with a wheelbase 2390 mm and 1000 kg weight the new Dzire is built keeping in mind India’s latest obsession with “small” cars. Though the company may have compromised a tad bit too much on the boot size in their bid to keep the car under 4 meters. But the creators have a different motive, so though the look is a little boxy it is set to pack a punch.
Swift Dzire
The car will have a five-speed manual transmission (the petrol variant will have a four-speed automatic transmission) with synchromesh in all gears and will be available with both petrol and diesel engine options. It has also been imbibed with the detent pin tech and variable valve timing that enables smoother shifting.
The petrol variant is supposed to have a K12M VVT petrol engine which delivers 87ps of power @ 6000rpm and a 113Nm of torque @ 4000 rpm and can reach up to 145 kmph speed. While the D13A DDiS diesel engine will include the 1248cc, intercooled, turbocharged diesel engine that will deliver maximum power of 75ps@ 4000rpm and a 190Nm of torque @ 2000rpm.
When it comes to the interiors, the Dzire will not see much difference when compared to its predecessor. It will retain the auto climate control, modern steering wheel design, integrated audio system with six speakers and waterfall design centre console. However, newer features like the black dual tone, lighter beige theme color for the cabin, wood finish inserts on the dashboard and door panels, have been incorporated for a better look and feel.
Dzire - Interior
Though the price has not yet been disclosed, it has been made known that the Dzire will be available in seven regal colors, namely Arctic White, Silky Silver, Clear Beige, Midnight Black, Bright Red, Azure Gray and Sovereign Blue.
The only thing to do now is wait for the road price to be disclosed, which will be sometime in February, and then it’s time to hit those Maruti Showrooms for a glimpse of the new Dzire.

What Is New In New Maruti Swift Dzire 2012- Picture Review?
First of all, the new Dzire is based on the new Maruti Swift 2011 which is a larger and improved platform with better tuned suspensions, new body panels, lighter in weight and improved in performance and fuel economy. Also the new Swift Dzire 2012 will feature a 4 speed automatic transmission option along with the 5 speed manual.
